- Brainhunter is currently seeking the services of a “Application Development Project Manager” for a contract role with one of our Valued Clients.

Hourly Compensation: $80-$90 / hour per hour. Final compensation will be negotiated between the contractor and recruiter based on experience and engagement terms.
This position reports within a matrix management model to the IT PM Manager in the Core Business Solutions Delivery department, and one or more Program Managers (dotted line).
This Project Manager (PM) position is focused on the delivery of a set of solutions to manage the Clients ancillary services from the day ahead market developed and operated by our partner WattEx; as well as the development of custom solutions for real-time orchestration of ancillary services with other internal systems; and compliance and shadow settlement of the services. The successful candidate will utilize their formal IT Project Management skills and experience aligned with the Clients expectations detailed below.
Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Following the Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) practices of the overall A IT Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC), to ensure the integrity and quality of the project artifacts, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Planning and leading the end-to-end project delivery of both a vendor developed solution internally developed solutions while coordinating with other project teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems, required reporting and meeting compliance requirements.
- Creation of PMLC documentation to support project approvals and project audits.
- Create and manage project budget and resource forecasts using Workday.
- Ensuring project plans define scope within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.
- Identifying and managing project dependencies, ensuring project deliverables are on time, on target, and within the budget.
- Lead risk and issue identification, management, stakeholder awareness, mitigation actions and escalations.
- Setting priorities for resources, identify resource constraints, coordinate interactions with stakeholders, and keeps the project team focused on delivery priorities and minimum viable product (MVP) scope.
- Coordinate multiple cross-functional teams (solution architect, software designers, QA, BA, IT Security, IT compliance (CIP/SOC/CSOX) and external vendors to ensure aligned priorities and on-time releases.
- Translate business requirements into iterative delivery plans, breaking work into MVPs and follow-on increments with clear acceptance criteria.
- Facilitating seamless project delivery – liaise with managers and process owners to ensure alignment and improve process and communications within fit for purpose delivery.
- Coaching and mentoring the project team toward project success.
- Preparing communication plans and related project status reports to key stakeholders, and PMO.
- Collaborating in a matrix management structure, with other PM’s, PgM and Functional Managers for resources and change windows and organizational priorities.
- Ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed to meet or exceed with delivery

What you’ll bring to :
Bachelor’s degree in business, IT or other related field. An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or working towards one is preferred. Hands-on IT project management experience with structured project and solution delivery methodologies is essential. Proven ability to deliver complex projects successfully through a full life cycle (Initiation, Planning, Executing, Control, and Completion), including experience with procurement, and business/operational integration. Strong project and people management skills in a matrix management environment. Comprehension of current Information Technology concepts/solutions. Project delivery in a compliance-based organization, experience with project audits. Utilities or Energy Trading industry background is an asset. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Comfort working with both business users and technical specialists and has a demonstrated ability in negotiation. Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in parallel and work effectively on several projects at the same time. Experience managing vendor delivered custom software development projects. Experience managing internal custom software development projects. Managing change control processes and quality assurance aspects of the project to ensure project success. Supporting the Program Manager (PgM) and the business in creation of business cases and other SDLC artifacts. Contribute to the performance management of resources.
