SharePoint Analyst
Office Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Work Environment: Remote. Must be available for occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton.
Contract Period: May 2025 - April 2026
For our client, we are seeking a SharePoint Analyst
Required Skills:
• Experience in Design, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI) to create intuitive and visually appealing user center experiences.
• Ability to translate business requirements from non-technical stakeholders into user-centric designs, balancing user needs and design constraints to create highly functional and visually appealing interfaces.
• Experience with SharePoint Online and content management systems (CMS) and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks.
• Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
• Ability to design and implement custom web parts, themes, and workflows are asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Duties:
• User gathering and effective communication with the stakeholders.
• Migrating the content from existing Intranet websites into the new modernized pages.
• Design and build responsive and user-friendly Intranet pages using SharePoint Online.
• Customize SharePoint components, including web parts, lists, libraries, and workflows.
• Develop custom themes, templates, and branding elements to align with Government of Alberta guidelines
• Optimize site navigation and structure for ease of use.
• Implement content management best practices, ensuring consistent and engaging communication.
• Develop workflows and automation to improve content publishing efficiency.
• Perform business analysis and design to support creating SharePoint solutions.
• Provide first and second-level technical support for SharePoint-related issues, including user inquiries, system errors, and performance problems.
• Troubleshoot SharePoint site and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements to SharePoint sites and applications.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to support end-users and IT staff in using and administering SharePoint.
• Participate in testing and quality assurance activities to validate the functionality, performance, and usability of SharePoint solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to SharePoint and collaborate with the team to evaluate their potential impact and benefits.
• Perform business requirements and complex design in delivering solutions using out-of-box SharePoint components
• Provide expertise for the design of new processes for support of Microsoft SharePoint and related systems.
• Validation of content and data used to support migration efforts.
• Resolution of day-to-day problems arising through operational support of SharePoint.
• Development and implementation of solutions both individually and as a member of the SharePoint operations team.
• Routine reports that correlate hours worked with operational duties
• Work directly with Government of Alberta technical staff and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
-experience as a site collection administrator
-experience using and supporting ShareGate
-experience using PowerShell
-experience with the development, integration, and support of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online..
-Experience troubleshooting forms and workflows (all types)
